In the Italian tradition, religious festivals are accompanied by iconic recipes rooted in custom. If you’re looking for inspiration for an Easter dinner menu and want to cook something a little out of the ordinary, try some of our recipes from the Easter collection – inspired by some of the most essential Easter ingredients like cheeses, herbs, eggs, fresh pasta, lamb and a few surprises to end on a sweet note!
Easter Pie
When we think of easter pie, a savory pie par excellence comes to mind: the Pasqualina. Stuffed with spinach, ricotta cheese and eggs, this recipe is a great classic that never gets old – besides the fact that it’s so easy to prepare! Equally traditional is the Casatiello Campano, a rolled-up pie dough with a heart of cheese and salami napolentano.

Happy Easter with Pasta!
Pasta always makes us happy, even during Easter! We especially love making fresh egg pasta and seasoning it with fish and vegetables, meat sauce or a delicate cream-based sauce. But Easter is also the perfect time to enjoy a delicious lasagna – a dish no one can resist!
Easter Cake
The cake most deserving of the title ‘Easter Cake’ would have to be the Pastiera Napoletana. A triumph of pastry dough, ricotta cheese and wheat – with the unmistakable flavor of orange blossom water. More complicated to prepare at home, but certainly iconic, is the Colomba – always found in any Italian home during Easter. In Italy, we usually buy it in a pastry shop or supermarket and eat it on its own or accompanied by delicious creams. The important thing is its dove shape. In fact, the Colomba dove shape often features olive twigs as a decoration to symbolize peace, the most important element of any Italian Easter.
