The spookiest time of the year is fast approaching. But let’s switch it up a little this year! Replace the usual pumpkin jack o’lantern with pineapple. Here’s how.
Carving a pineapple jack o’lantern for Halloween
These are the steps for turning your pineapple into a scary (or cute) jack o’lantern!
Remove the pineapple crown and set aside.
Using a pineapple cutter or a digger, extract the flesh of the fruit while still keeping the skin intact.
Carve into the peel to create the shapes for the eyes, nose and mouth. (The scarier the better in our opinion!)
Insert a tea light inside the pineapple and place the crown back on top.
Your spooky pineapple jack o’lantern is ready!
And of course, don’t waste the fruit! Here are a few recipes to use it.
